How does the process work from booking my due date to giving birth?

Please fill out this reservation form to book your due date on our calendar. Once you have filled it out, the next step is to:

1. Call or text Kalanzia at 601-720-5891 to let her know when you are in labor. We are available 24/7- so whatever time you go into labor, please let us know.
2. Once you are admitted and are set up in your Labor and Delivery room, tell your Labor and Delivery nurse, “I am keeping my placenta and have made arrangements to have it picked up once I have the baby.”
3. Call or Text Kalanzia again to let her know you have delivered the baby and the placenta is ready for pick up.

Will the hospital release my placenta? How do I get my placenta from the hospital?

Yes, all hospitals will release you your placenta. Once you are admitted, tell your nurse you are keeping your placenta. They will have you sign a release form. They will put your placenta in a container or plastic bag (which they provide) and I will then come and pick it up.

***Make sure you are well informed to your rights to your placenta. If for some reason the hospital is giving you a reason you cannot take your placenta, please contact Kalanzia.

How many capsules will I get?

The amount of capsules varies and is dependent on the size of your placenta.  The least I have encapsulated was 80 and the most 275.   The average is 125.

Does it taste bad?

Not at all!  We use unflavored capsules and like any medicine, it is swallowed with a glass of water.  There should not be any flavor.  If preferred, we can encapsulate with flavored capsules, which usually impart a slightly fruity flavor.

Do we offer Shipping options?

In order to reach clients that are not local, we now offer a shipping option. We make the process as easy and streamlined as possible. Once you secure your due date and shipping fee are paid, we email and mail all needed supplies for services. If you have any further questions please contact us.

How do I know I'm not getting someone else's placenta?

The best answer I can give is, you just need to trust me. I’m highly trained, responsible and take my career seriously.   I take precautions. I limit my client load to reduce the chances of having more than one placentas to process at a time.  Stations are labeled with the client’s information and the contract stays at the station for added measure.

What type of training did you go through?

I am trained in contamination prevention and sanitation. I am trained and certified by the Association of Placenta Preparation Arts and I have completed International OSHA compliant Blood-Born Pathogens training especially for Placenta Encapsulation Specialists in accordance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1090.1030 and adhere to strict APPA standards for professional placenta preparation. I learned from other Placenta Service Providers around the country and internationally who have been preparing placentas for years.  I follow the strictest OSHA, EPA and APPA guidelines for cleanliness, sterilization and contamination prevention when working with human blood/organ tissue. Serenity Placentas works with one client at a time so there is never any risk of mix-ups or cross-contamination. We have prepared many placentas and training in safe and competent preparation of the placenta- authored training manual and hands-on training course and co-authoring APPA standards & training modules for placenta professionals.

Can you tell me a little about the supplies you use and how they are stored and sterilized?

The supplies used in the dehydration and encapsulation process are all stainless steel and food-grade plastic. They are thoroughly washed with antibacterial soap and hot water & sanitized with bleach solution and hospital-grade cleaners. The stainless steel tools are also heat sanitized. We also sanitize each piece before use. We follows the same guidelines for cleanliness and sanitation that are used in food service establishments. We have completed an International OSHA approved Bloodborne Pathogen course created specifically for Placenta Encapsulators in accordance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1090.1030 and adhere to strict APPA standards for professional placenta preparation.
